A total of 322 MBA graduates of 2020-2022 and 2021-2023 batches were conferred degrees during the convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur recently.
IIM Sambalpur Director, Mahadeo Jaiswal informed that the institute awards Chairman’s Gold Medal for Scholastic performance, Director’s Gold Medal for Scholastic performance and Gold Medal for best all-round performance during the convocation. Surprisingly, all the six toppers, who were awarded the gold medals, are girl students.
“Earlier, the percentage of girls in management courses was low and IIM Sambalpur had introduced gender diversity in 2019 admission process. Now, we are seeing that the girl students are top performers and securing top jobs as well,” said Jaiswal.
Jaiswal further informed that the IIM Sambalpur has achieved a remarkable 100 percent placements, with the highest package INR 64.61 lakh per annum (domestic) and INR 64.15 lakh per annum (international).
Anusha Garg from 2020 batch said, “My package initially was Rs 20 lakh and there was tremendous hike in my package which has now increased to Rs 66 lakh per annum.
” According to Garg, she always wanted to do MBA as she comes from a business family. “My parents have always supported me as they always kept me equivalent and better than any son they might had. I want to set up my own business,” Garg added.
