BJP National VP Baijayant Panda
BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP, Baijayant Panda received a floral welcome from party supporters upon his arrival at Rajkanika in Kendrapara district on Friday.
The Kendrapara MP visited Taras village, where he offered prayers at the Radha Krishna Temple and the Abhiram Paramhansa Mutt.
The senior saffron party leader also participated in the death anniversary of late Rabinarayan Jena, a notable figure known for his commitment to Gandhian philosophy, Sarvodaya and Bhoodan movements.
During the event, Panda paid homage by laying floral wreaths and lighting a ceremonial lamp to officially commence the meeting organised in the memory of Jena.
Rabinarayan Jena had close ties with renowned freedom fighters such as Ramadevi, Malati Choudhury, and acclaimed leader Jayaprakash Narayan, contributing actively to numerous revolutionary efforts.
Later, joining a Jan Aushadhi awareness program in Garapur, Panda said, "Jan Aushadhi is generic medicine. It has the same formula and same composition. However, it is sold at cheaper prices by the government as it doesn't have the added price of branding and marketing. It is available at 50-80 per cent less price. I want to assure you all that the efficiency of these medicines is equal in comparison to the branded medicines."
"Some people run false propaganda against it. However, people should not be swayed by it. Everybody, especially the poor and the middle class people, should take advantage of it. Effort is being made to make it available easily through the supply chain," he added.
