Enforcement Directorate (ED) will quiz all the engineers trapped in the Vigilance net in Odisha over disproportionate assets (DA) to their known sources of income soon.
As per Vigilance sources, the anti-corruption has provided all the information about the engineers, whose houses and properties were raided in the last four months, to the ED.
It has been learnt that ED will summon those engineers soon under the Money Laundering Act. ED has already prepared a list of the corrupt engineers and taken the files from the Vigilance Department.
“We have shared details about all the important cases detected by us with all the related agencies like Income Tax and ED. We have also interacted with each other to take further courses of action,” Vigilance Director Yeshwant Jethwa said.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Vigilance has arrested six Chief Engineers along with several other top cadre officers over DA charges in the last four months.
As many as six chief engineers, a joint commissioner of Excise Department, an assistant commissioner of CT&GST, a chief accounts officer of OSRTC, a deputy director of Fisheries department, a chief civil supplies officer, two tehsildars, two BDOs, one forest range officer, a jail superintendent, a doctor and seven police officers have so far been arrested on DA, bribery and government fund embezzlement charges.
