‘Drunk driver’ rams car into traffic post in Bhubaneswar, 2 critically injured

In another case of careless and drunk driving, a car rammed into the traffic post at Damana square in Bhubaneswar late on Monday night. 

In the process, the traffic post has been damaged and the driver and a lady inside the car have sustained severe injuries.

Upon being informed, Chandrasekharpur police reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital, who were in critical condition. The vehicle has been seized.

As per reports, the car came from Kelucharan Park at a great speed and smashed the traffic post at Damana square. Subsequently, it crashed into the divider and hit a pole.

As per the eyewitnesses, both the driver and the woman inside the car were drunk. The driver was driving the car at a great speed when he lost balance and hit the traffic post.

However, no reaction could be obtained from the police in this regard.

As per local residents, many drivers are indulging in drunk and rash driving as the administration has become complacent and stopped conducting breath tests to check drunken drivers in the Capital City.
