CDA suspends salaries of 15 employees for coming to office late
The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) on Friday ordered the suspension of salaries of 15 employees for coming late to the office.
The CDA Secretary reportedly issued this order following consistent reports of staff not adhering to expected office hours, signalling an effort to uphold discipline within the department.
Show cause notices have also been issued to the employees, and it has been mentioned that disciplinary actions and departmental proceedings will be taken against the employees if they fail to give satisfactory answers.
According to CDA Secretary Sweta Dash, some employees of CDA were not coming to the office on time on a regular basis. These employees were also not recording their attendance.

As a result, people were facing lots of difficulties in their official work. When they come to the CDA office for any work, they often find the officials absent from their tables. Following frequent allegations about the matter, stern action has been taken against the erring employees.
As per reports, the CDA secretary has ordered for the suspension of salaries of the 15 employees for one day. All these employees had not recorded their attendance. While some of them came to the office at 12 pm, some others reached the office at 2 pm and 3 pm.
Earlier, the Odisha government had issued a notification in which the government employees were asked to reach the office on time and not to leave the office before 5.30 pm.
However, CDA employees were flouting the government order on a regular basis. Though there were frequent allegations against the employees, authorities were scared to take action against them. However, the CDA Secretary finally took action against them.
