Berhampur diamond loot case: Four more arreste
In a major breakthrough, the police have arrested four more accused in connection with the diamond loot case where traders were shot at in Shastri Nagar under Bada Bazar police station in Berhampur on August 6.
The arrested have been identified as Mustakim Khan, Jalaluddin Khan, Sheikh Afran of Khordha, and Akhil Ranjan Mohanty of Berhampur. With these arrests, the total number of accused held in the case has risen to eight.
During the operation, police seized a pistol, two magazines, and four rounds of live ammunition from their possession.

The gang had allegedly shot at traders Balakrishna Achari and Sunil Sahu before fleeing with diamonds. Investigations have revealed that the mastermind behind the gang hails from the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.
Earlier, the police had apprehended three suspects and an accomplice in connection the case.
During the arrests, police had recovered one vehicle, three mobile phones, two empty cartridges, and two bullets from the accused.
