A stray dog attacks multiple people in Bhadrak's Bhandaripokhari and Bant, injuring five including three minors, causing panic; victims treated at district hospital with no action from authorities.

Dog bites spread panic in Bhadrak

Panic has gripped villagers in the Bhandaripokhari and Bant areas of Bhadrak district after reports of a stray dog attacking people at random. 

The black coloured stray dog has been going around biting whomever it encounters, creating a climate of fear, especially among parents of young children.

According to reports, the dog has attacked many people, leaving three minors among the five people seriously injured so far. 

All the victims have been admitted to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

"My brother-in-law's son had come to play with my daughter. However, the black coloured stray dog bit him. We took him to the medical for treatment. After this incident, the stray dog bit another person in the nearby Podanga Gram Panchayat under Bant block. They have also come to the hospital for treatment. Then the dog went on to bit another child. We have also heard that the dog has bitten two more persons. Panic has gripped the area following these incidents," said Sashikanta Dutta, relative of an injured child.

Though the local residents have reportedly informed about the incidents to the Forest Department, no action has been taken yet.
