The housing survey under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) began in Odisha, with state officials launching a housing portal and conducting surveys via the Awas Plus app. Beneficiaries can apply online or offline, with five individuals from Arjunsinghpur village already included.

Housing survey under PMAY commences in Odisha

The housing survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) commenced in Odisha on Friday. State officials have inaugurated the housing portal, and surveys are being conducted through the Awas Plus mobile application. Prospective beneficiaries have the option to apply either offline or online. 

On the inaugural day, as many as five individuals from Arjunsinghpur village under Pipili block in Puri have reportedly been included in the scheme. The selected beneficiaries are Uma Behera, Juna Behera, Kumar Behera, Mamata Behera and Sanju Behera. These individuals were inducted in the presence of Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Naik.

As per reports, the survey will take place over approximately one and a half to two months. Applicants can either submit their forms offline at panchayat offices or register online. To facilitate this process, awareness programmes have already been organised across various panchayats.

This year, for the first time, families can self-register for the survey. Households living separately are also welcome to apply. The Central government has updated the eligibility criteria, allowing families possessing two-wheelers, refrigerators, and landline phones to be included in the survey list. Additionally, individuals earning up to Rs 15,000 per month can now apply.

Sons living separately from their parents and women separated from their husbands are eligible to apply under the revised rules. A toll-free helpline at 0674-681 7777 has been issued for those in need of further assistance.
