8 new Odisha products including Kai ant chutney, Kanteimundi brinjal get GI tags

Among the products that received GI tags are Odisha Khajuri Guda (Gajapati date palm jaggery), Dhenkanal Magji, Mayurbhanj Kai (a kind of ants) chutney, Nayagarh Kanteimundi Baigan(Brinjal) and Dongaria Kondh embroidered shawl. The GI tag was also given to Kendrapara Rasabali (a kind of dessert), Koraput Kalajeera rice, and Paintings of Lanjia Saura.

As many as eight new products of Odisha have received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. This was informed by the Odisha Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises department on its X handle on Wednesday. 

This tag signifies that products from a specific geographical location possess qualities that are due to that origin. The prestigious tag is given by the Geographical Indication Registry of India.
