2 Odisha teachers accused of misbehaving with girl students, detained

A school teacher in Rajkanika area under Kendrapara district has been detained by police over alleged inappropriate conduct involving two girl students from Class V. Another lady teacher has also been detained in connection with the incident for allegedly helping the main accused.

The main accused has been identified as Kailash Sahu. As per reports, the incident occurred after school hours on March 1.

Complaints Filed by Parents

The investigation reportedly began after the mothers of the two students filed formal complaints at the Rajkanika police station about the incident. They named the teacher and another woman teacher who purportedly assisted him.

As per the complaint, the teacher allegedly called the children to his office after school hours, where he allegedly misbehaved with them.

Police Response and Investigation

Following the submission of formal complaints, Rajkanika Police has reportedly detained the accused teacher and a female colleague for interrogation.

Police are actively collecting evidence and gathering statements from all parties involved as part of their ongoing investigation.

The case is being closely monitored by the community, as it touches upon sensitive issues of child safety and institutional accountability.

"The teacher showed obscene videos to the students and gave them money not to reveal the incident to anyone," said one of the victim's mother.

However, accused Kailash Sahu refuted the allegations against him.

"The allegations against me are false and baseless. They have brought the allegations against me due to some other reasons. Is it possible to show obscene videos to the students?" asked Sahu.

"It has been alleged that the accused teacher has misbehaved with the girls at school. A case has been registered and an investigation into the incident is currently underway," said Rajkanika IIC Sanjay Mallick.
