An Odia youth stranded in Qatar has finally managed to reunite with his family following diplomatic intervention by BJP National Vice-president Baijayant Panda.

The youth, Sarat Kumar Sethy, a native of Chandia village under Basudevpur police limits in Bhadrak reached Bhubaneswar this morning. He expressed his gratitude to Panda for his assistance after reaching home.

As per reports, Sarat, son of late Banchhanidhi Sethy, was working at a private company In Doha for four months. He wanted to come back home as his wife Sarika Lata Sethy fell critically ill with a fatal disease. But he didn’t get any support from the company.

At last, a helpless Sarika sought Panda’s help for repatriation of her husband. The former MP wrote a letter to the Indian Ambassador to Qatar on June 17, seeking his intervention in the matter. Following the request, Indian Embassy established contact with the company authorities and helped Sarat return to Odisha.

Panda thanked Indian Ambassador to Qatar for helping the youth in getting back to Odisha. The senior BJP leader has taken initiatives for the successful return of several Odia people stranded or missing in foreign countries.
