Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is in the headlines for quite some time as his upcoming Vikram Vedha is only a few days away before it hits the theatres.

Duggu is one of the most celebrated actors in India with lot of fan base also in overseas. But, did you know, Hrithik had to fight grim odds before making his debut in 2000 with 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai'?

Certainly, it was not tough for Hrithik to step into the glamour world, being the son of actor turned director Rakesh Roshan.

While he has multiple times appeared on the silver screen as a child actor, he made his debut as the lead in 2000. In his long journey of 22 years, the actor has seen several ups and downs in life, however, now he has reached the pinnacle of success with his stellar performances.

Hrithik has been swaying movie lovers and fans with his good looks, chiselled body, actions and dance apart from his acting skills.

Commonly dubbed as 'Greek God of Bollywood', Hrithik had a rough childhood when he struggled with a lack of confidence, a stutter and financial insecurity.

Struggles during childhood

Earlier, Duggu had said that his family was going through a tough time financially. They could not even pay their house rent for which his mother took them to their maternal house while Rakesh lived with his mother until they could buy another house.

After purchasing a new house, they shifted into it with barely just walls and floors. They even slept on mats. Prepping up for acting Hrithik had a major stammering problem and was extremely thin. He took speech therapy classes in order to work on his stammering. He also took up dancing lessons and even bodybuilding in order to bulk up. After prepping up, he then debuted with Ameesha Patel.

However, many are unaware that Hrithik even had to go through more challenges before prepping up for acting.

Challenges while prepping up for debut

Recently, during a promotional event for Vikram Vedha, the actor reminisced about his old days and revealed the major challenges he had to face before debuting in the industry.

"Before debuting in Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai, doctors had warned me that my health condition is not so good that I can do action films and dance. However, I accepted that as a challenge and I concentrated on my health and fitness. Learned work, and lots of other things," he said.

Further, he went on to add, "I am just happy and very glad. I think that it's nothing sort of a miracle for me personally. In my 25th film I am still doing action, I am still dancing and I am still being able to say my dialogue. I think the 21-year-old me would be very proud of this me today."

Lastly, he expressed his gratitude to his fans and the audience saying that it was not possible without all of them, their support and love.

Countdown begins...

Now, Hrithik as well as his fans seem to be quite excited for Vikram Vedha, scheduled to release on Sept 30. After the teaser and trailer, the makers on Saturday dropped 'Alcoholia', a dance number from the upcoming flick. The video has by now garnered over 21 million views with 393K likes. The excitement and eagerness for 'Vikram Vedha' seem to be quite obvious from the response. The Hindi remake of the Tamil film Vikram Vedha also stars Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. While Hrithik will be seen as the antagonist in place of Vijay Sethupathi in the original, Said will be stepping into the shoes of R. Madhavan.
