Although she is a talented actress the success was possible only because she had plum projects from Dharma Productions or a strong support and recommendation from Karan Johar at every step. That ensured Alia Bhatt gets good and creative projects like Highway and RRR.

Now it seems Karan Johar has shifted his focus to his yet another student Ananya Panday. From launching her in Student of the Year 2 to giving her back-to-back projects despite delivering multiple flops, Karan has made his intentions very clear. Her last release- a digital one titled Call Me Bae was bashed left and right but still, an aggressive campaign tried to convince everyone how Ananya was loved in this particular series.

Produced by Dharma Productions now the same series has got a sequel that confirms the enormous belief that Karan Johar and his team have on Ananya Panday. Despite the fact that her big release like Liger flopped badly, Karan Johar seems to have huge trust in her. That is why she has also been roped in Dharma’s next with Kartik Aaryan-Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera. The movie has a budget of 150 crore which can be considered insane.

She is also doing Imtiaz Ali’s next with Vedang Raina and there are rumours that it was Karan Johar who recommended Ananya’s name to her, the way he had requested Imtiaz to cast Alia in Highway. The Khaali Peeli actress is also a part of Dharma’s next titled Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya as the lead. She is also doing an untitled film with  Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan produced by Dharma Productions.

Now for someone who is yet to deliver a clear hit in Bollywood, getting all such plump projects is not just about good luck but also about having strong support from someone who is as big as Karan Johar.
