SSMB29: After Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham to join Mahesh Babu!
Ace Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli's next with Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled SSMB29, has been creating a significant buzz since the day of the announcement. The much-anticipated action-adventure has been capturing the attention of fans across the globe. Meanwhile, excitement has fuelled after reports surfaced about Priyanka Chopra Jonas joining Mahesh Babu for the project. Though certain reports claim that PC will not be playing the female lead, Rajamouli has kept the cast under wraps. Amid this, the latest report suggests that John Abraham is set to join Mahesh Babu in the globe-trotting adventure.
As per reports, initially, it was Prithviraj Sukumaran who was locked to play a significant role in SSMB29. However, the fresh reports suggest that Sukumaran has opted out of the project due to unforeseen circumstances. Following that the makers have turned to the Dhoom actor to play the role. Now, John is expected to join Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. Moreover, reports also suggest that some of his scenes will be shot in Hyderabad.
However, an official confirmation is awaited from the makers.
SSMB29 is undeniably one of the most ambitious projects of Indian cinema. After the mammoth success of the Baahubali franchise and RRR, Rajamouli is gearing up for another pan-India project which will be globally appealing. However, the filmmaker had implemented stricter rules to maintain complete confidentiality about the project. Reportedly, Rajamouli has made his core team including the cast and crew sign non-disclosure agreements that prohibit them from revealing any details about the project. Violating the instructions could result in financial penalties. Even reports suggest that no actor is allowed to bring their mobile phones to the set during the shooting. Well, Rajamouli has taken such a step fearing content leaks from the sets.
Notably, the production of SSMB29 has already begun officially. Rajamouli teased the update by sharing a cryptic post. Both Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra expressed their enthusiasm for the film's commencement in the comments section of the post. While SSMB29 is expected to be a cinematic spectacle, rumours suggest that SSMB29 will be titled Garuda. Reports suggest that the next schedule of the flick will be in Kenya with a release target in 2027.
