Saiyaara cast promoting their film
Debutant duo Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are rewriting Bollywood history with their first film, Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri. The romantic musical, releasing on 18 July 2025, is shattering advance booking records and already threatening 2025’s biggest openers.
Saiyaara isn’t just debuting—it’s detonating records. With Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda leading the charge, the film is poised to become the biggest newcomer-driven blockbuster of 2025, aiming straight at the champions Chhaava and Sikandar.
In just one day of pre-sales, the film sold over 45,000 tickets across national chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis — making it the second‑highest advance booking opener ever for a film led by debutants, even surpassing Student of the Year.
Trade experts forecast a monumental Rs 24‑crore Day 1, on a modest Rs 36‑crore budget, nudging it into “blockbuster” territory from day one. But the buzz only gets hotter. Industry insiders reveal that 1.5 lakh advance tickets have been sold through national chains, overtaking Salman Khan’s Sikandar (1.43 lakh), Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 (94.7k), and even Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (93k).
This puts Saiyaara squarely in contention to challenge the top-two openers of the year—Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava (Rs 33.1 crore) and Salman’s Sikandar (Rs 30 crore). Box office trackers predict it could even crack Bollywood’s Top 5 openers of 2025, outpacing biggies like Sky Force (Rs 15.3 crore).
Yash Raj Films is meanwhile gearing up theatre plans—initially limiting shows to strategic time slots with student-friendly pricing before scaling up post-launch.
