Amid the unabated rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, the demand to scrap the CBSE Class 12 board exam 2021 is growing louder and it seems the exam may get scrapped.

The board is likely to review the COVID situation in the country in June before taking any further action related to the conduct or cancellation of the CBSE class 12 exam.

According to Times of India, sources in the ministry of education (MoE) say that there is a likelihood of the class 12 exam being scrapped.

“Given the current situation, there is possibility of scrapping the exams altogether. CBSE will review the situation and probably would have to work out an alternative assessment scheme for the Class12 students,” it quoted a senior ministry official as saying.

He further said that the COVID situation is far worse against last year’s situation and even though the board will review the situation in the coming days, scraping the CBSE class 12 board exam is more likely.

The CBSE board exam for class 10 was earlier cancelled while the class 12 exam was postponed. The board had then informed that it will review the situation on June 1, 2021, and details will be shared subsequently.

It had further said that a notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.
