Bhubaneswar: A youth was brutally killed by unidentified miscreants at Laxmi Sagar area in the Capital city on Monday night. The killing is suspected to have taken place following a trivial matter related to rash driving.
According to reports, one Kartik Sahoo of Laxmi Sagar had an altercation with some miscreants last night over rash driving of vehicles. The miscreants had some personal rivalry with Kartik and quarreled with him over the small affair.
Kartik's family alleged that they called him from his house at around 10 pm last night and took him to a lonely place before stabbing him with sharp weapons collectively. They fled the spot leaving him profusely bleeding.

Later, after enquiring for his whereabouts at several places, Kartik's family members rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to Capital hospital.
The doctors referred him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition was too critical. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the premier health institute.
Kartik had multiple deep injuries on his body, reports said.
Meanwhile, after registering a case, police have started investigation into the incident after visiting the crime spot. Police is also reported to have questioned the family members of the deceased and neighbours.
According to reports, around 4-5 miscreants were involved in the crime. They all belong to the same area in the city. The exact reason of the crime is being investigated, police said.
