Bhubaneswar: The ghastly murder of Priyanka Priyadarshini, a homemaker who lived with her family at Bhimatangi in the Capital city, was a pre-determined crime, informed police a day after recovering the blood-soaked body of the woman from her rented accomodation.
The police have so far held one Jagannath Pradhan in connection with the murder.
“Prima facie, it seems that both (accused and deceased) were known to each other and close. However, a feud developed between the two over some unknown reasons following which the accused had planned to commit the crime. It was a pre-determined murder,” DCP Umashankar Dash said.

A hand written letter which has been recovered from the crime scene revealed that the accused had planned to kill the three-year son of the deceased, Priyanka, first before eliminating her. Later, he was supposed to commit suicide, the DCP said.
The letter recovered from the spot will be sent to the forensic laboratory for verification, he added.
Dash further informed that a special team will shortly visit Jajpur for further investigation. The team will question the close relatives of both accused and victim to elucidate more information, he added.
The accused will undergo further treatment even though he is now out of danger. "He will be interrogated once he got discharged from the hospital,” the DCP maintained.
Asked if the accused had forcefully entered the house of the victim, the DCP said that there was no such evidence to suggest forced entry.
Meanwhile, father and brother of the deceased who recorded statement at the Airfield Police Station said that Priyanka had a very good relationship with her husband and they were leading a happy life and had no family dispute.
As per reports, the accused had posted a message on his family whatsapp group mentioning that his life was spoiled and he was going to end life as he could not live without her (Priyanka). He had sent the message on the fateful day when he left home for Bhubaneswar.
