Three bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted cash from an employee of a petrol pump, situated near Panchagaon village under Tigiria Police Station limits in Athagarh block of Cuttack district, at gunpoint late last night.

The entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed at the fuel station. The footage was provided to OTV by the technical support team of the filling station.

The CCTV footage purportedly showed three youths on a bike at the fuel station asking the staff there for petrol. The youth, who was driving the bike, was also seen paying money after filling the petrol. However, soon, one of the two pillion riders brandished gun at the fuel station staff and snatched the money bag from him (staff) before fleeing the spot.

The petrol pump owner is yet to ascertain the exact amount of money looted from the staff. A case has been lodged in this regard at the local police station. The incident has triggered fear among the locals.

Earlier on Tuesday, a petrol pump employee identified as Manabendra Das was critically injured after three bike-borne miscreants allegedly opened fire at him and looted Rs 6 lakh cash from him near Baladiabandha area under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal.

Das, who worked as a cashier at the filling station, was reportedly transferring the cash into a van in the afternoon when the miscreants came on a bike and shot him twice before decamping with the cash.
