Lady blackmailer Archana Nag to physically appear before SDJM court today

Lady blackmailer Archana Nag, who has been arrested for allegedly honey-trapping and extorting crores of rupees from influential people including ace producer of Odia filmdom, is all set to appear before the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court today.

The accused will appear in the court in connection with a blackmailing case filed against her by Odia film producer Akshay Parija. She had allegedly demanded Rs 3 crore from Parija by threatening him with his obscene videos. 

Earlier, Archana had appeared before the court through videoconferencing. The court, however, reserved the order on her bail plea after hearing arguments from the lawyers appearing for the accused as well as the prosecution. 

As her bail application was rejected, she was lodged at Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar. This time, Archana will be physically present during today’s court proceedings, police sources revealed. 

Archan’s crime file came to fore after producer Akshay Parija had filed a complaint accusing Archana of blackmailing him and demanding Rs 3 crore. In the meantime, a woman also filed another complaint with Khandagiri police accusing Archana of trapping her and using her to blackmail Akshay Parija. 

In the month of April, Archana gave Akshay Parija’s number to the woman and asked her to start chatting with him. She was even forced to invite Parija one day and establish physical relations with him. Archana recorded their entire act before starting blackmailing Parija with the help of the girl thereafter, police sources revealed.

Currently, Archana and her husband Jagabandhu are lodged in Jaharpada jail.  They met each other in the jail on Sunday.  The couple was allowed to meet for 15 minutes in presence of the jail warder and a staff. However, it is not clear what actually the duo discussed.    

Notably, the Commisionerate of Police had arrested Archana on October 6 and her husband on October 22.
