The entire nation is shocked over the brutal murder of a girl by her live-in partner in Delhi. As per reports, the accused, Aftab Poonawalla, has been arrested on the charges of chopping his live-in partner Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces and disposing them off at multiple locations across the city.

Before disposing the body, Aftab kept the mutilated body of his partner for 18 days inside a fridge. Aftab Ameen Poonawalla and Shraddha were in a love relationship. On May 18, Aftab strangled Shraddha to death after they had a fight, Delhi Police said.

Shraddha, who was reportedly working at a call centre of a multinational company in Mumbai, came in contact with Aftab and started dating him. The couple came to Delhi after Shraddha’s family did not approve of their relationship.

The shocking incident has brought back memories of another gruesome murder which was reported from Odisha’s Bhubaneswar was back in 2013. The accused, Somnath Parida, a retired Army doctor, had brutally murdered his wife Ushashree by chopping her body into 300 pieces.

The incident then had created shockwaves in Odisha.

Parida, a Lieutenant Colonel and engaged as doctor in Army, had killed his wife at house located in Nayapalli area. What was more shocking is the fact that after killing his wife, Parida kept her body parts in kitchen containers and stayed with it inside the house for 20 days.

Parida allegedly used surgeon’s scalpel, scissors and other sharp weapons to chop her wife’s body.
