Voting was held for the third phase of polling in Odisha. The polling was held amid heavy security in as many as six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly constituencies across the State. A total of 94.8 lakh voters will decide the fate of 64 candidates in the six Lok Sabha seats and 383 candidates in the 42 Assembly seats. Polling was conducted for Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar Lok Sabha seats, and all the 42 Assembly seats under these Parliamentary segments.
Odisha recorded 71 percent voter turnout in the third phase of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections held on Saturday, informed the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
"Approximate voter turnout for Odisha Phase -III SGE 2024 at the close of the poll (excluding postal ballots) is about 71%. Final turnout will be confirmed after the booth-wise votes polled as recorded in Form-17 C are added and it is a continuous process," tweeted Odisha CEO

Odisha registered a voter turnout of 59.60 per cent till 5 pm. Sambalpur registered a highest voter turnout at 65.91 per cent. Keonjhar recorded a voter turnout at 62.43 per cent, Dhenkanal at 60.88 percent, Puri at 61.17 per cent, Cuttack at 54.36 per cent and Bhubaneswar at 53.54 per cent.
Chhendipada MLA Sushant Behera allegedly attacked a BJP worker in Sambalpur. As per reports, when the MLA was reportedly trying to persuade some voters inside booth no 84 at Similisahi of Koshala panchayat, a BJP worker identified as Siddharth Shankar Sahu opposed it. Behera along with his supporters allegedly attacked Sahu.
No comments were received from Sushant Behera.
The 3rd phase of voting underway in six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly segments recorded a 48.44 per cent voter turnout till 3 pm.
Keonjhar recorded the highest voter turnout at 53.29 per cent. Sambalpur recorded 52.77 per cent, Dhenkanal 50.40 per cent, Puri 48.71 per cent, Cuttack 43.52 per cent and Bhubaneswar at 42.53 per cent.
Odisha recorded 35.69 per cent voter turnout till 1 pm in six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 assembly segments on Saturday.Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer N B Dhal said voting has been peaceful so far in the 10,581 polling stations, barring some reports of EVM glitches.
