Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya have done four movies together out of which three have been major superhits. These movies are Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave, and Majili. However, Autonagar Surya yet another movie of the South Indian power couple failed at the box-office. So in a way, their combination has been a major draw for the audience.
The latest buzz is that they are once again going to share the screen for an upcoming flick which has been tentatively titled Thank You. Reports indicate that the movie is based on a gratitude theme but there are no such updates from its director Vikram Kumar who is well known for delivering some of the big movies like 13B, Ishtam, Hello, Gang Leader, Ishq, and 24. He has already directed Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya in Manam and now wants to rope in the same pair for his new film.
Vikram Kumar’s Condition For Naga Chaitanya
Vikram is very keen to get the pair of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha in the lead for Thank You. But it seems Samantha is not very eager to sign new films as of now. She is already doing a Tamil romantic comedy flick directed by Vignesh Shivan with big star cast Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Bankrolled by Lalit Kumar, the movie titled Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal was scheduled to release on September 2020 but due to coronavirus pandemic, it may be released on a later date.
She also has a Tamil horror movie of Ashwin Saravanan and will also be seen in the next season of The Family Man. So currently her schedule is very tight and once the shooting resumes, her priority will be to complete projects in hand. Vikram seems to be aware of Samantha’s reluctance and hence has told Naga Chaitanya that he will do a film with the actor only if his wife accepts to be a part of the project.
Now whether the Manam actor gets to do the Vikram Kumar movie or not will solely depend on Samantha’s decision.
