Monali Thakur, the famous Bollywood singer who became a household name with her popular numbers like Sawar Loon from Lootere and Moh Moh Ke Dhage from Dum Laga Ke Haisha recently revealed details about her secret marriage to a restaurateur in Switzerland. The singer revealed that she married Maik Richter in 2017 in an unconventional wedding and kept the news a secret until now.
The singer also said that this news will shock most of her industry friends and colleagues as none of them were invited to her wedding. According to Monali, the couple wanted to celebrate and make the announcement but things kept on getting delayed.
Monali Thakur Knows Her Friends Will Be Upset
The National Award-winning singer is quite aware that her colleagues and friends are going to be upset with this news. Monali said that she knows people will be angry with her but she will find a way to make them happy by arranging a proper wedding ceremony and calling them for the celebrations. Despite marrying for three years, Maik and Monali are yet to finalize on a wedding date but will announce after the situation due to COVID-19 pandemic returns to normalcy.

While sharing details about her romance with Maik, Monali said, “I met Maik during my trip to Switzerland and we clicked instantly. Not just him, I made a connection with his family, too. Maik proposed to me at the exact spot where we had met for the first time, under a tree, on a freezing Christmas Eve 2016. My reply was an instant yes.”

The news about the marriage between Maik and Monali became viral after the Swiss debuted through his singer wife’s single Dil Ka Fitoor on the screen composed by Kaushik-Guddu. Earlier it was referred that Maik was Monali’s fiancée but now it is clear that the couple has already got hitched three years ago.
At present, the singer is with her husband and his family in Switzerland.
