Veteran Kannada actor Harish Rai, known for his powerful performances in Om and the KGF franchise, passed away at the age of 55 after a long battle with cancer. The actor, who had been undergoing treatment for several months, is survived by his wife and two sons. His passing marks a deep loss for the South Indian film industry, where he was admired for his dedication and impactful roles.

Harish Rai began his acting journey in the Kannada film industry with small but memorable roles that showcased his natural talent. Notably, Harish Rai, who won hearts as Khasim Chacha in the KGF series, had been bravely fighting Stage IV thyroid cancer. In 2022, he revealed that he was facing severe financial difficulties and struggling to afford his treatment. Hearing of his plight, his KGF co-star and Kannada cinema’s Rocking Star Yash extended a helping hand, offering both financial support and compassion during Rai’s toughest battle.
