Going into the final phase of elections, political parties are organizing public meetings and rallies with an increased frequency. What is such meetings become a cause of trouble for the public? One incident which could have had serious repercussions has raised questions in the minds of the public. On Monday, two ambulances got stuck in traffic congestion during Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to Kendrapara. The ambulances carrying critical patients couldn’t move for over an hour because of the traffic jam at Barua in Pattamundei. Today, during Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's election campaign in Barua, traffic congestion on the Cuttack-Chandbali road blocked way for two ambulances, one 108 ambulance and one private ambulance. All the patients were critical, with one of them being involved in a serious accident. Despite multiple efforts by the ambulance driver and local residents, the ambulances remained trapped in the dire traffic conditions. Finally, after an hour, the traffic conditions eased, allowing the ambulances to proceed. Meanwhile, the lack of special arrangements for the Chief Minister's public meetings has raised questions. Why did the admin not make any special arrangements for CM’s meetings? Why should emergency services be disrupted due to traffic congestion?
