Toshali National Crafts Mela is an annual confluence of exquisite products of master craftsmen and artisans from across the nation. The food court with special cuisines from different parts of the country is also a big crowd puller. The Toshali mela is once-in-a-year event being held at the capital city of Odisha for nearly two decades now. Like every year, many artists, sculptors, painters and weavers have gathered at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar for the Toshali Mela to exhibit their items. Visitors can experience the live demonstration by artisans creating sculptures, applique, patta chitra and weaving on the looms. This year, a total of 390 handlooms and handicrafts stalls have been set up at the mela. As many as 150 weavers, artisans got a chance to showcase and sell their products directly to customers. Besides the handicraft and handloom stalls, quite a number of food stalls have come up with a promise to provide authentic tastes of various states. One could also find some mouth-watering local cuisines that add to the delight of the foodies.
