In view of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday appointed its national vice-president Baijayant Panda as the new in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. This is seen as a big responsibility for Baijayant Panda as notably Amit Shah was in-charge of Uttar Pradesh during 2014 general polls and JP Nadda the state in-charge during 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The saffron party has appointed election in-charges and co-in-charges for 23 states including West Bengal, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Punjab and others. While senior leader and party’s National Vice-President Baijayant Panda has been appointed the new in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Vinod Tawade has been appointed as election in-charge of Bihar. Vijaypal Singh Tomar has been named election in-charge of Odisha along with Lata Usendi as co-in-charge.
