The accused hails from Panchkula, West Bengal and was presently staying at Masjidgali ( Arada Bazar) under Sahadevkhunta police limits.

Acting on a tip off, a special team of the STF raided a house in the village and recovered the illegal substance before the consignment was sold to potential customers.

With a view to tighten its noose around wildlife criminals, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has declared poachers, middlemen and wildlife criminals as most wanted. 

The STF has already launched a special drive against wildlife criminals/poachers. During last one year, the STF seized as many as 21 leopard skins, 11 tusks, two deer skins, rescued seven live pangolins, 15 kilograms of pangolin scales, and arrested 46 wildlife criminals.
