Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated the longest bridge of Odisha on river Mahanadi. Built at a cost of Rs 111 crore, the 'T-Setu' of T’Bridge will enhance connectivity and immensely benefit people of Cuttack and Khordha districts.
The ‘T’ shaped bridge which spans 3.4 kilometre long will cut the distance between Badamba and Banki Baideshwar by almost 45 km and connects Gopinathpur in Badamba, Baideswar in Banki to Singhanath Pitha.
The T-bridge will benefit over 5 lakh people as well as contribute to the development of tourism, agriculture and commerce in the region, claims government.
This bridge which is 7.5 metre wide also has footpath on both sides. It is also likely to benefit devotees visiting Baba Singhanath’s Bali Makar Jatra in Badamba.
CM Naveen had laid the foundation stone of T-Setu in February 2014. Following completion, it was thrown open for public on Monday after inauguration by CM at Gopinathpur in Cuttack district.
