Woman found hanging in Bhubaneswar slum; family alleges murder

A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Mainsikhal Tarini Basti in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, leading to tension in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Rosalin Behera.

According to preliminary reports, Behera’s body was found hanging inside her residence. While the incident initially appeared to be a case of suicide, her family members have alleged foul play and accused her husband of murdering her.

Upon receiving information, a team from Badagada police station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Family members claimed that Behera had been facing marital issues since her marriage and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. She had married Shaswata Pattnaik around one and a half years ago.

Police sources said that Shaswata Pattnaik is currently absconding, which has further intensified suspicion. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him. Further details are awaited pending the post-mortem report and the progress of the investigation.
