In a shocking incident, the lifeless body of a young man was discovered in an abandoned area behind Mato Degree College, under the jurisdiction of Chandbali police station in Bhadrak district, on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Alok Bal, sustained injuries to his stomach and face, prompting police to suspect foul play.

A plumber’s card found near the body confirmed his identity. According to local sources, Alok was the son of Prafulla Bal from Nalita Gadia village, Utukuda Panchayat. He had been working in Mumbai and had returned home about a month ago on leave.

He reportedly went out three days prior and did not return, only for his body to be found today. Following the discovery, both Chandbali police and Mato police reached the scene and launched a detailed investigation.

The police are currently examining the circumstances surrounding his death and questioning locals to gather more information.
