Bhubaneswar: Senior employees of Odisha Television Network today appeared at the Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar, duly extending their cooperation in the investigation into a viral audio clip posted on social media.

OTV’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Digital Head, Editor of Odisha Reporter and others, who had been issued notice over a viral audio clip of a conversation between two friends about the experience at a COVID hospital in the State, appeared before the Police on Wednesday.

The Orissa HC had granted interim protection to OTV in connection with the case on August 17and asked the employees of the media house to cooperate in the investigation.

Earlier, the Commissionerate Police had issued notice to OTV in the middle of the night asking its employees to appear. Though the television channel had later tried to submit the documents sought by the cops in connection with the matter, the IIC of the Capital PS did not accept the documents from OTV’s PRO.

Later, the media house lodged a complaint against the concerned IIC for violating law. In its appeal to the Bhubaneswar DCP, OTV had sought registration of a case against the inspector under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 166, 167, 193 and 218.
