Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested Chilika Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Alok Ranjan Hota on disproportionate asset charges.

According to sources, Hota was arrested for accumulating property worth over Rs 1 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On Monday, teams of anti-graft agency had conducted simultaneous raids at five places including Hota’s official residence at Dumduma, Bhubaneswar, three-storied building at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, residence-cum-office at Balugaon, ancestral house at Chasikhanda in Jagatsinghpur and relative’s house at Padampur village under Balipatna police limits.

During the raids, the anti-corruption agency had laid its hand on many important documents and bank passbook.
