Sambalpur: A student at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) has alleged that he had been ragged by his seniors in the varsity campus.

The university disciplinary committee and anti-ragging cell has initiated a probe following a complaint lodged by the victim who is a second year student. The disciplinary panel has started questioning some forth year students who were identified by the victim.

The incident surfaced at the reputed technical institute barely a week after some students were imposed financial penalty in connection with a similar case at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in the same district.

As many as 18 fourth year MBBS students at the medical college were fined of Rs 54,000 collectively for their involvement in a ragging case.
