Sambalpur: Tension ran high on premises of VSS Medical College & Hospital in Burla after a patient died at the government-run hospital due to alleged medical negligence on Saturday night.
Irate over the incident, patient and relatives of deceased ransacked the Casualty department of the hospital demanding stringent action against the erring officials.
Following the incident PG doctors of the hospital went on a strike demanding arrest of the people involved in the ruckus. Besides, they also threatened to quit from Casualty service if their demands are not met.
Meanwhile, tension prevails to continue inside the hospital even if hospital superintendent, police SDPO managed to bring the situation under control late on last night. Police forces have been deployed in the government-run hospital to avoid any untoward incident.
