Bhubaneswar: Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Director General (DG) LS Rathore on Wednesday said cyclonic storm ‘Hudhud’ is likely to take the form of severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow morning and then very severe cyclonic storm on October 10.
Rathore told mediapersons ‘Hudhud’ is likely to make landfall between Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Gopalpur in Odisha on October 12 noon.
Further, he added four districts of Odisha – Khurda, Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati – are likely to be affected by ‘Hudhud’.
The IMD DG said the effect of ‘Hudhud’ will be less as compared to ‘Phailin’ which hit the state last year.
He added the maximum wind speed will be 155 kmph during the very severe cyclonic storm.
