Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar today issued yellow warning for 21 districts on likelihood of heavy to very heavy rain in the next 24 hours.

As per the mid-day bulleting of the Met Center, a cyclonic circulation that lies over west-central Bay of Bengal and off the coastal Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu coasts has been influencing the South-West monsoon that is now active over Odisha.

Five Day Forecast As Predicted By Met Center:

Day-1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 02.09.2020 up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2020)

Yellow Warning:

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Sonepur.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.09.2020 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2020)

Yellow Warning:

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.09.2020 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2020)

While no warning has been issued for day-3, light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur at one or two places over the districts, the MeT center said.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.09.2020 up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.09.2020)

No warning has been issued sounded by the weather department for day-4.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.09.2020 up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.09.2020)

Yellow Warning:

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal.

As far as the farmers are concerned, a Yellow Warning has been sounded for them for the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.
