Odisha Plus-II Admissions Notification To Be Out Soon

Bhubaneswar: Announcing a huge relief for students amid the uncertainty in reopening of educational institutions in the State due to the Covid pandemic, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das on Sunday said that the dates of admission into Plus-II courses will be announced in a day or two.

As the results of annual Class 10 board examination were published a few days ago, it was only pertinent to draw that dates of Plus-II admissions was on the cards.

Informing about development, the education minister said, “Council of Higher Secondary Council has submitted the related files with the department. The government will notify the dates as soon as the files get final approval in a day or two.”

Elaborating further on the roadmap for the coming academic year, Das mentioned about a decision by the department to conduct 5-day training for 101 schools announced as the school of excellence earlier, 30 plus-II colleges and 30 District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) institutes.

Given the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state and the consequent decision to impart online learning to the students, the 5-day workshop has been envisioned to upskill the teachers and lecturers in the changing scenario of online teaching.

It is worthwhile to mention that, Odisha government has already started online education for Under Graduate and Post-Graduate students from July 13. A guideline for the same was issued to all the Universities.

Earlier, the State school and mass education department had initiated measures to facilitate e-learning for students from Class I to Class X in 24 districts through Madhu app and EDUSAT. The department has roped in Microsoft to provide technical support in this regard.

Speaking on the schools that performed very poorly in the matriculation examinations with zero success, Das said, “There are 31 such schools and I will be conducting a meeting with the Head Masters of those schools soon.”
