Sundergarh: The authorities of Sarsara Community Healthcare centre and Ghosara Primary Healthcare centre in the district announced the closure of Out-Patient Department (OPD) for the general public after some staff were tested positive for coronavirus.

Both the hospitals were shut on Saturday (3 PM) and will remain closed till September 29 (3 PM) so that the entire premises can be sanitized. However, emergency services will continue in both the hospitals, informed the authorities.

The healthcare staff who have been infected with the virus are currently in isolation.

As per the Odisha Covid-19 dashboard, Sundergarh has over a thousand active cases of coronavirus, while 6119 patients have recuperated from the disease. The district has also registered 39 Covid deaths and four more fatalities due to other health complications.
