Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to rest, School and Mass Education department today informed that evaluation of matric answer copies will resume from May 26, paving way for declaration of results by end of July. As per a notification issued by the department, district Collectors have been asked to nominate a nodal officer (ORS officer) for supervising necessary logistical arrangements at evaluation centres as well as the enforcement of prescribed COVID-19 guidelines.

School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash today held discussions with the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) officials regarding the implementation of Orissa High Court directives and SOP for the entire evaluation process.

It is pertinent to mention here that the evaluation of matric answer copies was earlier scheduled to resume from May 20 which was subsequently extended by a day due to cyclone Amphan. In view of the problems particularly in the cyclone Amphan-affected districts, the date to resume evaluation has been revised and extended till May 26.

“We are all set to resume matric answer copy evaluation from May 26. The evaluation will be conducted in 60 centres which were earlier identified and a detailed SOP has been prepared by the BSE in this regard,” said Dash.

Dash further informed that as per Orissa High Court directive, special measures have been undertaken to ensure that centres are located with 10km radius of the place of stay of the evaluators.

While hearing a PIL, Orissa High Court had directed Odisha School and Mass Education Department to make necessary arrangements for food and accommodation for the teachers who have to travel 10 km or more to the evaluation centres.

In view of summer, special measures like fans and adequate provision of drinking water at all the identified evaluation across the State.
