Kendrapara: Frequent change of ration dealers has triggered resentment among locals in the Pegarpada panchayat under Rajkanika block of Kendrapara district. While expressing their dissatisfaction over frequent changes in the appointment of dealers, around 300 beneficiaries have alleged that they have not got their ration since last two months.

According to sources three dealers have been changed in last four months in the panchayat disrupting distribution of ration to beneficiaries.

Meanwhile locals also alleged that their request to Rajkanika Supply Inspector and BDO to appoint a permanent dealer has fallen on deaf ears.

“The villagers are facing problems because of corruption in appointment of dealers and we strongly condemn it. We demand two permanent dealers to be appointed in our village,” stated Sandhyarani Palai, a beneficiary of Pagarpada village.

Meanwhile Kendrapara sub-collector Jyoti Shankar Mohapatra stated that a new dealer will be appointed soon.

“We have got a complaint regarding the appointment of dealers. For the time being they could avail their rations from any of the dealers in the panchayat as the supplies have already been sent. A new dealer will be appointed soon,” he assured.
