Bhubaneswar: Hours after issuing guidelines on reopening of schools under Unlock 6.0 on Saturday morning, the Odisha government issued a fresh notification changing its previous order.

The revised guidelines issued by the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) read, “The Department of School & Mass Education may take appropriate decision with regard to the date of re-opening of schools under its control/ superintendence/ supervision in respect of classes from 9th to 12th standard, in a graded manner, after November 15,2020 in consultation with relevant stakeholders and issue necessary guidelines/ SOP.”

However, all academic institutions across the State will remain closed till November 30, 2020, the revised notification read.

Earlier the government notification had allowed reopening of schools for classes IX to XII from November 16. Even the school and mass education minister had stated that the department was ready and already discussions had begun with relevant stakeholders for initiating the process as per the SRC guidelines.
