Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister, Sameer Ranjan Dash on Saturday said that the dates for reopening of schools will be announced soon.
While speaking exclusively to OTV, the minister said that the school and mass education department will soon issue a detail standard operating procedure (SOP) to facilitate reopening of schools, particularly from Standard IX to XII.
The SOP will mostly deal with the necessary directions for the strict compliance of the COVID-19 norms issued by Centre and State Health and Family Welfare Department in the past.
“The Special Relief Commissioner today has issued a guideline for reopening of schools for standard IX- XII students. The department is fully ready and we have issued the relevant directions to the department secretary. We have already started holding discussions with the stakeholders and soon will announce dates on which the schools will reopen,” said Dash.

Following the issuance of the school opening guidelines under Unlock 6.0 by the state government on Saturday, senior officials made it clear that under no circumstances the safety of students will be compromised in view of the pandemic situation.
As per the unlock 6.0 guidelines issued by the Odisha government, all academic institutions will remain closed till November 30 in the State. However, classes from IX to XII in all the schools in the State will reopen from November 16.
