Bhubaneswar: Just days after Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) announced to operate MoBus services all seven days of the week, the organisation on Thursday declared that the bus services will not be available between 12 pm and 3.30 pm every day.

The CRUT has clarified that the decision is being implemented in view of less footfall of passengers during these hours. It is said that despite relaxation of lockdown norms, people are still reluctant to use public service due to fear of Covid-19 contraction.

“Please note #MoBusBus service is not available between 12 PM- 3.30 PM due to less footfall. Gradually we will resume operation on more routes and increase frequency," a tweet by CRUT said.

On September 1, CRUT, which manages MoBus in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri, decided to run its buses throughout week.

As informed by the CMD of CRUT, Arun Bothra, the buses that were earlier running five-days a week would now run daily following the abolishment of weekend shutdown in Odisha.

The bus services resumed with following stipulations:

-NO mask, NO entry

-NO standing passenger inside the bus

-Passengers should carry sanitizers

-Passengers to be encouraged to make online payments
