Balasore/Cuttack: A man, who reportedly attempted suicide by consuming poison and subsequently admitted to hospital for treatment, was later found Covid positive. The incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack which took everyone by surprise was equally shocking for the patient and his family members.

The brother of the patient, through a video message that went viral in social media platforms, today alleged that he was left unattended by the hospital staff after they found him positive with coronavirus infection.

The man, a resident of Balasore district was initially taken to Bhadrak Hospital after he attempted suicide by consuming poison yesterday and was later referred to SCB Hospital in Cuttack.

After his smple test at SCB Hospital, doctors confirmed that he has contracted coronavirus infection.

“They took his swab samples in the evening yesterday and at around 9 pm they informed that my brother has been tested positive with Covid-19. Later the hospital authorities provided us a bed but despite hours after the admission no one came to examine him. He was suffering in pain the entire night,” alleged the patient’s brother.

Meanwhile, after the news was aired on OTV, the patient was reportedly shifted to Ashwini Covid hospital in Cuttack.
