Bhubaneswar: Next 48 hours are going to be critical for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar as the Regional Meteorological Centre on Monday issued heavy rainfall alert for the twin cities.

As per official sources, heavy/intense spells of rainfall will occur in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar within tomorrow (0830 hrs) with one to two moderate (1-2 cm/hr) spells of rain/ thundershowers. On day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs of August 4 to 0830 hrs of August 5), there is possibility of one to two intense of spells of rain (2-3cm/hr) in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

The met office issued yellow warning predicting heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) in some areas of Cuttack city.

The heavy rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in several low-lying areas of Cuttack city, the regional meteorological centre’s advisory read.
