Bhubaneswar: People in Odisha will get relief from the prevailing hot and humid conditions as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alert for the State predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next five days in several districts of Odisha.

A cyclonic circulation lays centered over Gangetic West Bengal an adjoining Bangladesh between 2.1 and. 3.1 km above mean sea level. Another cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighborhood. Under its influence a low pressure area very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal by tomorrow (August 4).

As per the latest IMD forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Koraput tomorrow.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 Hrs of August 4 to 0830 Hrs of August 5)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Angul, Boudh and Dhenkanal.

Yellow warning(be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Cuttack.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of August 5 up to 0830 hrs IST of August 6)

Orange warning (be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall warning issued for Bargarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sonepur.

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Angul and Keonjhar.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of August 6 up to 0830 hrs IST of August 7)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning (be updated)

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of August 7 up to 0830 hrs IST of August 08)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over several districts of Odisha.
