Bhubaneswar: As Odisha’s Covid19 numbers explode with nearly 500 new cases for the second consecutive day, the State capital, Bhubaneswar too witnessed a sharp spike in SARS-nCoV infections by registering a record 45 new positive cases on Saturday.
As per data released by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, the city’s Covid tally has now touched 414 which includes 247 recoveries and 160 active cases.
Earlier in the day, the State Health and Family Welfare department informed that two patients of Bhubaneswar succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours thus taking the death toll in the capital city to 6.

While 37 new cases have been reported from quarantine centres, 8 have been detected from local contacts. Similarly, as many as 31 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
