Bhubaneswar: People of Twin City- Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Saturday experienced an intense spell of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm.
Vehicular traffic at prominent roads came to a grinding halt owing to accumulation of rainwater. This caused numerous problems to office goers in the afternoon.

The Meteorological Centre has also issued heavy rainfall warning for the twin city for the next 2-3 hours.

As per the advisory, light to moderate with intense spell (2-3cm) of rain/ thunderstorm will lash Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The roads may be slippery, poor visibility and possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas.
“The Low pressure area lies over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Odisha coast and the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with height. We have issued heavy rain warning for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar,” said Umashankar Das, weather expert.
